  • Tom Verlaine of Television has to be the most underappreciated and underratted guitarist and songwriter in America. Patti Smith is the first lady, and grande dame of the punk aesthetic, bless her.

  • Her 1st intro to CBGB was when she walked in on an Easter Sunday and Television was playing. She not only fell in love with the band, but with Tom as well! Patti did bits of Television's Little Johhny Jewel and Marquee Moon the last night, with T's Richard Lloyd accompanying. It Tom was who 1st convinced Hilly to play original rock at his club, and Television was the first such band.

  • @OdeToMyHemoroids Shut the fuck up you sexist pig you asshole and shes giving a tribute to a man and if it she was a man im sure you wouldnt say this. SEXIST! FUCK YOU SEXIST! YOU ARE AS BAD AS RACISTS! SEXISM IS AS BAD AS RACISM FUCK YOU

  • Things I learn on youtube- That Bowie actually covered a Verlaine song. Bloke always did have good taste.

  • You reminded me of a time when I was in New York City and literally bumped into Tom Verlaine. He had a brocken arm, yeah! a slight problem for a guitaristl, lol, and that reminded me of the Bowie song lyric in Five Year, "saw you with a brocken arm".....David did an exceptional cover of Tom's Kingdom Come on his excellent Scary Monsters album.

  • "Tom Verlaine of Television has to be the most underappreciated and underratted guitarist and songwriter in America." Count yourself lucky then! Without there being an underground elite, he would be even less. Tell your friends!

  • Hear! Hear!
