Fotos und Videos der alten Hungerburgbahn in Innsbruck im Einstellungsjahr 2005. Diese Standseilbahn wurde 1906 erbaut und 1957-58 erneuert. Seit der Einstellung ist die Trasse inklusive Brücken ungenützt. Wagen 1 blieb im Gegensatz zu Wagen 2 erhalten und steht nun bei der Achenseebahn in Jenbach als Denkmal. Im Dezember 2007 wurde die architektonisch interessante, aber auch umstrittene neue Hungerburgbahn mit geänderter Streckenführung eröffnet.

@dinosaurustaurus Thanks for that. Wish I'd known as I would have liked to see that. Will do next time as Innsbruck is definitely somewhere I'd go back to.

Ich mag zwar die neue Hungerburgbahn lieber, aber mit dieser Musik könntest du mich glatt ein wenig überzeugen.

Thanks. That was really lovely to see the old version. I recently visited Innsbruck to see the Zaha Hadid stations and loved those too. Did the old railway stop on the South side of the Inn?

Yes, but about 1.2 km north-east of the current stop. If you enter "Innsbruck, Rennweg 41" in google maps or google earth, you can see the old station. (new station: Innsbruck, Rennweg 3) The old station (and the bridge too) still exists, but is out of order.
