If there was one thing made clear by this video, it's that Marcy Kaptur is more concerned with her own Nancy Grace-esque truth than any actualized understanding of the exigent circumstances. It's funny watching someone hell bent on a witch hunt asking questions that just reveal how utterly little she knows about the banking system and its impact on the United States economy.

As for "secret bailouts", the GAO report appropriately includes ALL the external AND internal audits requested by the Fed, as well as the audits constructed for the constructed investment vehicles that handled the toxic assets. Not so secret, huh? As for all that money we gave to foreign banks, the GAO report explains why that was serving the public good. There is plenty to be mad about, but please read up first so you make sure you are campaigning for the right changes.

@sasuke2545 I assume you are referring to the GAO report referenced by Bernie Sanders. The report is 253 pages long, so I'm sympathetic to the fact that you likely did not read it. Lord knows I didn't want to, but I actually did. The 14 trillion number you're swinging around is not rate adjusted. In reality, the maximum outstanding loans were a little over 1 trillion, and only at the heigh of the crisis. Those loans have been repaid. Before you "shut down" someone else, do some homework.
