Millions of years ago when the Earth was cold, it looked like life on the planet would cease to exist. But black flowers began to grow, multiplying across the landscape until the entire surface was covered in blooms. Slowly, the blackness of the flowers sucked in the heat of the sun and life began to evolve again. That is the power of Gaia. The planet will protect itself. If man is the enemy, it will destroy him.
this extract say,s it all. wonderful soundscape

He's one of the reasons I love this vid so much. Mum, I know it's only a tambourine, but God-dammmit I *am* going to get noticed.

I first saw Edge of Darkness when I was 16, it was (and still is) one of the best written, and impactful dramas I've ever seen. Also highly recommend 'A Very British Coup'

I keep wanting this to break into the Mad Men theme song lol

Dunno about anyone else, I just dig the 'krazy' tambourine dude @ 3.23

6:43 of pure guitar heaven.I could watch this all day, just to see the MASTER at work!

The 24 Nights CD version of this song is so much better than this one from the video. IDK wky, but the 24N video seems to have the "B" versions of most of the songs. I don't know how Eric could have such completely different solos playing the same songs over 24 nights, but it is what it is.

There was me thinking his 'I shot the sherriff' solo from the first Crossroads concert was his best solo ever, and then I hear this. Clapton is the king of emotive solos...he is equally at home tearing it up or squeezing every ounce of feeling out of a few well placed notes. I love Joe Bonamassa and a lot of other younger players, but no-one does it like Eric!

@mrmajestyk81 One of the best pieces of music I've ever heard! To write an orchestral piece this beautiful and then play such finely complimentary guitar!...
Forget crabby Mel Gibson's "Edge of Darkness:", and watch the original BBC mini-series. Clapton did the soundtrack.

This mini-series/film is so good. See it if you can. The remake with Mel Gibson is not even in the same universe with it. This theme music expresses the darkness and intrigue of the film perfectly.
