Guinness adds Value, esp. to this industry and to design students. She is a living, breathing icon. Lending her carefully curated collection was quite a gift, I saw this exhibit, and feel more connected to my industry and academia for having seen it. A Big Thank You to both Guinness and FIT for this show. I hope to see more contributions like this in the future!
@iwasborntobefly I totally agree but hey on a good side, if I were FIT students, I would love to see her "old" couture pieces on display too. why not? for me her book should be placing next to Carine Roitfeld book Irreverent, Irrelevant.
seriously? this is something that makes people dislike fashion; honoring someone who can buy expensive clothes but posses little talent. she has accomplished really very little. how sad that with all of her money and access, the only thing she can say she worked to succeed in is buying clothes and looking expensive and "fashionable." personally, i don't admire legacies. i admire (and respect) people who created/worked for success. don't like her clothes, but stella mccartney comes to mind.
