There is a tint of jealousy or something to her tone of voice. Maybe disbelief that someone as visually unappealing is getting professional attention in something other than secretarial work? Joan had been in that office for some time now, and she was in her 30's and still unmarried. PLUS she is about to embark on that little seen but unsatisfying office affair with that one hipster guy. Joan's prob not where she wants to be right now.

Unfortnately, the internet is like a horny teenage boy if there is big boobs involved that's all they are going to notice. I think the content in this scene is very interesting. I think it's classic Joan doing what Joan does best playing a sort of meaner older sister role to Peggy putting her in her place, but I wonder do you think Joan was slightly jealous in a way of Peggy?
