  • ricky skaggs and kentucky thunder is coming to the watseka theatre watseka illinois on august 26

  • @mdm2554 Thats where I thought it was but I was never there when they were using the old stage. Sure would of loved to have been around in those days.

  • @Mochotruck this was recorded at the Carter Stanley Memorial Festival in Coeburn Va. The festival is now called The Hills of Home Festival.

  • @Mochotruck it sure looks like the same setting at Jerusalem Ridge where Cumberland Highlanders show is filmed

  • Reminds me of my kin back in Elizabethon Tennessee

  • where was this recorded at?

  • Too bad they didn't let the Godfather of Bluegrass Gospel (Carl Story) sing a verse... great to hear Curly Ray and Kenny twin fiddling... didn't know they could mesh their styles so well. Wow, that brings back memories of the old days. Notice how Bill is wearing his Sunday best.

  • Rcksalt...Thanks for the 4th fiddlers name Boys from Indiana Moon Mullins..L/R Kenny Baker, Glen Duncan, Moon Mullins, Curly Ray Cline ,fiddles, Marshall mom? and girls,David Marshall, Bill Monroe, Keith Whitley, Ralph Stanley, Jerry Holt, Aubry Holt,Melvin Goins, Harley Gabbard,Jack Cooke, Pop Marshall, Carl Story, Wayne Lewis, know the bass player and persons on the back row please post. Bill Monroe would have all the bands come out on Sunday morning for The Gospel show.

  • @washtub1000 Ricky isnt here playing fiddle, the 4th one is non other than TBFI's own Moon Mullins. He is directly behind Curly.

  • It's great to see this footage! I was actually there! That's Larry Beasly on the banjo, and the guy who looks like Skaggs is David Marshall.
