(SNES) Spider-Man & Venom - Maximum Carnage Speedrun in 28:12 (Part 1)

WARNING: There's some audio desync here. I'll be getting a new & much more powerful computer very soon, so that shouldn't be an issue anymore.

I figured it was about time to get to an actual GOOD game from my youth, and I was surprised at how well this one holds up. One of the best beat-em-ups ever IMO, and a miracle considering that LJN was involved.

It's also one of the few games in this genre that makes for an entertaining speedrun. You have two characters, branching paths, generally short levels, a bunch of superheroes to use as assists, and a fighting system that rewards accuracy + avoiding damage.

This is a pretty good run, but there are a lot of little mistakes here and there (misplaced power hits, accidental pauses, ended up with an extra Dagger, etc.) as well as bad luck in a number of spots. The last two Carnage fights made up for it, though. =)

Overall, this run is a nice benchmark for anyone else wanting to try this game. I think you can take another minute or two off of it if you get extremely lucky.
