@whiteworld1488 on the contrary you can not just "take over a property" there are quite a few legit rules and regulations especially when attempting to legally possess an abandoned property. i agree nobody has a right to just "march into peoples property and take occupation of it" but there are millions upon millions of properties which have been abandoned and lost int he paper shuffle that could overturned into a productive and beneficial property.

what happens when someone wants to pay and move in?

@Daniel0112358 Can you look up the definition for Dictatorship please because i really do not think you know what it means.
A dictator is by definition a single individual so how can a single party and dictator be in the same term when they contradict each other. The "Party" controls everything not Hu Jintao. If Mao was still in power you might have a point. Ironically after Mao the Chinese communist party ended up acting a lot like the post Stalin USSR. Go pick up a book & come back
-
1. China--It is a single party dictatorship. The unelected president, chosen by a conference of the Communist Party is Hu Jintao. Just because their is party control or alteration of executives doesn't mean it wasn't a dictatorship. For instance, there were no incredibly long-running leaders in post Stalin USSR. Many died in office, but at least Kruschev was removed by Party opponents.

@Daniel0112358 Who's the dictator? I would agree that China is not a socialist country but then again they never were really. However, they are definitely not a dictatorship because that would require a long standing dictator and they do not have one.
Anyway, my point was that even so called socialist countries don't have a whole lot to offer. Your not allowed to squat in Norway, Sweden and other true socialites countries aren't so lax when it comes to squatting. Wonder why that is?
-
You are aware that China is no longer in any sense a socialist country, right? The "Communist Party" just maintains its dictatorship while for instance giving no decent education or healthcare for peasants and hosting sweatshops making goods under contract for western corporations

It's not just god given right, it's constitution given right.
You have a right to have a roof over your head. They squat EMPTY flats man. EMPTY.
Filling a house with life is not a crime, it's a duty.
Letting the banks to take control ove you is a crime, against your soul.
You think paying a rent is normal? I think living in houses is normal.
-
@hobogasm Your absolutely right if people didn't move into those abandon Mansions and million dollar houses they would be full of crack heads. Give me a fuckin break.
Your not a noble hero and neither are they.

@Pick1980a are trying to speculate on the market, are what is termed as "greedy c*nts." This can often lead to the place becoming a center for drug users and/or vandals who not only damage the property but increase crime levels in the local area. People like this move in because, being the kind of greedy people they are, dont want to live on the street with their family consisting of two small children and by doing so prevent these shady uses of the place. know something before you speak out.
-
@Pick1980a watch out your talking to yourself there. i really dont think you understand the problem, in London, Where i live, the is a premium on space and the amount of housing doesn't fit the amount of people well. If you were to look around, as anyone should before commenting on a situation (agreed?), you will see a constant development work on new housing, because people living 6 to what is a two bedroom house isn't so great. people who take this space and do nothing with it because they...
Do you guys escape from Council Tax?

More than squatting itself it's the attitude of most squatters that annoys me. They act like they have some God-given right to march into people's property (however disused) and take occupation of it.
Why should they be different? Everyone else has to pay rent or a mortgage.

I think squatting is a choice, it is a right to have a house and there are different ways to get it, and squatting is only a way, I don't think the prizes if the houses are fair, also renting is something not everyone can pay, as I said, I am studying full time, and squatting for me is the only way.
