  • You don't say anything about amateur audio. You need everyone mic'd up

  • @stephenxflynn That's totally true. Maybe we'll tackle that in a future video!

  • I don't think anyone waves the camera around like that, even if they don't know what they are filming...

  • @DaBlackNinja1 You'd be surprised.

  • Firehosing? Isn't that the style of Michael Bay in the Transformers Series?

  • @kurogane2x Yes, it could be described that way, but it's debatable whether anyone would want to imitate Michael Bay's style XD

  • The way you demonstrated firehosing and jogging really made me laugh.

But these type of mistakes are made even in TV serials.

You have demonstrated the wrong way and the right way in shooting the video.

    Very useful.

  • All very good advice, and they're certainly things I learned to avoid right back in my early years of shooting video, both from experience and books. Tromboning (zooming in and out too often in the shot) is another thing to add to this list.

I think a lot of the mistakes people make when shooting video happen because they almost think they're doing still photography, so they search around for something to take a "photo" of, but photography and videography call for very different techniques.

  • I'm so glad someone is educating the people about this. So many videos are ruined because the same ole bad camera work.

  • :P 240p we meet again

  • funny tips & tricks :)

  • Dude really? your over acting everything that is the " amateur " things. And im going to take it you came up with these names becuz other people call them other names.

  • Wish I would have known this before I ruined my father's wedding video.. He told me my video was a piece of shit.. :(

  • @MrPeejay43 I would rather you didn't whine about things that clearly aren't important. Very good video

  • If you're going to insist on sticking junk music on your instructional videos, please, at least turn the volume down. I am more interested in your words of advice but the junk music, superimposed over your words is an obstruction and doesn't help you to be heard. I would rather you didn't have junk music on at all. Your ideas and suggestions are far more important.

  • With the one about back lighting, what happens if you want that certain background but the light's not good. Because if you change the location of the subject, the lighting may be better but the background's not as you wanted....What then?
