what are they 2 sets of lights?
-
At central the signals on the north side of the station, are they supported by the gantry?
-
If I remember correctly, it was Ex Flemo empty to Central
-
if there is an obstruction on the tracks, I'm certain that the signalers would stop the train concerned.

Why NO headlights?!
Headlights could always be dimmed or turned off.
Thought I noticed that some steam locomotives had no headlights.
I'd like to see ahead, looking for any problems; obstructions or trees across the tracks, etc. - not that by the time any are seen, one could stop quickly enough.
But at least one could start braking.
South of Denver, Colorado USA, where a road closely parallels a track, engineers kindly dim their headlights where they would blind drivers.

In the Netherlands we have 1 Green, 1 yellow, and 1 red. Some signals have a box with white lights for showing a number (max speed).
Possible signals:
Green, Blinking green, Blinking green + number, Yellow, Yellow + number, Blinking yellow, Yellow + blinking number and red.
example blinking green: watch?v=0qpNtJBOoh8
Example Yellow + blinking number (was a signal test) watch?v=EGBRt4vFLW8

Probably from Mactown sheds
-
In the UK if its compulsary to have headlight on day or night if the light fails then its 20 mph max and out of service at next depot
-
Its an empty car movement.
Kedumba, from which centre was this from?
eg: Maintrain, Flemo?
-
What service was the train doing?
Great video! I notice you CityRail guys don't use headlights at night. They'd hang us down here for that!

A lot of the Older Trains, Like the S Sets and R sets don't even have Headlights!!! Makes it kinda hard to use :-) When we do have them we usually keep 'em off in busy areas as more of a courtsy, stop blinding the drivewrs comming the other way.
