@andreasausmuc, the Transit Connect is based on a modified Ford C170 platform used by the Mk1 Focus.

true - it was developed in germany on the basis of the last fiesta generation. so it´s basically a pretty old design. i´d be so curious how it would perform in the current FMVSS rear crash configuration. i´d suspect the cars structure would collapse ...

For being an imported Ford van, that's pretty safe, the airbag deploys fast and early, and there wasn't too much damage to the front seat occupants. Good job Ford!
