Part 2 of our BMW F650GS full road test. This episode starts our coverage of what it's like to ride this bike - it doesn't get any more real than this. Future episodes will cover riding the bike even more; we'll cap it off with our snow ride! Find us at: www.MotorcycleVideoReview.com If you like this video series please tell BMW you want more!

  • I've bought the bike for commuter purposes, and to tackle daily traffic jams.

Since I only drove P200 Vespa's for about 20 years, this F650GS was a logical choice as a first step into 'above 100km/h' travel speed.

I got it the end of May 2008 and it has 43000km on the counter already...there were some issue's that needed treatment, but all was done with good care from BMW.

I have to drive it in -6°C conditions tomorrow here in Belgium (Europe) and I'm sure it will do the job ;-)

  • Sounds like a good choice in bikes. Stay warm! MVR

  • Great review, I'm a big fan and will send people to your channel.

1 thing though, you didn't say a word or show in the text at the end that your wearing BMW pro winter 2 gloves.

Riding year round in Missouri there are 3 gloves in the world I passionately love and thats 1 of them.

I rode in monsoon 500 miles STL to Chicago and those gloves kept my hands warm and dry!

waterproof elastic drawstring closure keeps your gloves from filling with water when arms are dow. Did you like them?

  • I'm not sure that is the exact glove. We only wore a BMW glove a small part of the time. There were other gloves worn much more. The answer is no! This is why many other gloves were worn. You are right about rain running down your sleeves - no worse feeling. Sometimes nothing works. Thanks for taking the time! MVR

  • @StoneWorksCraftsMan I commute on mine, and it's awesome for the task. Light, visible, good economy, and has the oomph on those occasions you need to punch out of a bad situation. but, like the man says, it's geared too high. I'd love it if 1st was 30% lower, 2nd 15% lower, and leave the rest alone.

  • Going to test ride an F650GS as well as the 800, obviously your videos are informative. Just wanted to say thanks.

  • Test rode this bike today, and it was fantastic. Much better than G650GS in my view. Very well engineered. Very good cornering. Felt very comfortable to me as a shorter rider. Just a great bike.

  • Nice to hear your comment. I drive P200s as well and may make the jump.

  • Very nice job - thank you! Just bought this bike, not delivered yet - eagerly anticipating my first ride.

  • Great review, keep up the good work.
