Really, for anyone to hit a ball with all their strength is pretty hard, and to get try to propel it even further requires a lot of build up and a lot of energy to be released. Thats why the a lot of women, and sometimes men, grunt and screech to exhale their breath to shoot the ball as far as they can.

I find it ridiculous that old hags sitting on their asses are telling an athlete how they should play. It doesn't sound like constructive criticism. It sounds more like envy. Let's face it, Maria is a very beautiful woman, and A LOT of women feel somehow threaten, and inferior. I've noticed this with my Mother and sisters. She should be fined for poor sportsmanship. There is no benefit to this screaming - it exists only to annoy her opponent. It only happens in the women's game and only a selection of the women do it. If she says she cannot play without doing it then ban her from the WTA tour.
Sharapova's not even the worst of them now!
