Prepare for maximum cheese! This is my re-orchestrated arrangement of 'Take My Breath Away', by the band Berlin, which featured prominently in the classic 80s film "Top Gun," starring Tom Cruise. The song itself, which won an acadamy award for best original song in 1986, was written by Giorgio Moroder and Tom Whitlock, and then performed by Berlin on the "Top Gun" soundtrack.
My arrangement basically takes the memorable riff and lead melody and puts them into a more baroque setting involving harpsichord and celesta (processed and layered with reverb). When the song shifts key the orchestra builds with strings, horns, timpani and swelling harp runs.
