When you talk about science requiring fiction, it goes back to Vaihinger (and Bentham's) work in Fictionalism, I believe. Interesting stuff, will look into Dewey's book.

question is there a true self...or a stable identity is a world of becoming without a sense of a collective nod yes to who you are...or who you think you are....then again that was Sartres focaults and nietzsche's nightmare.

yes indeed a world of becoming...our myths and errors keep us sane...ie causality...math...genetics..l
anguage...etc... -
Yes, the problem is that our language is not constructed to accommodate the flux and process of what's really going on.
"Grand eventfulness" is a great phrase...Your point that numbers and quantification are "fictions that we use to overlay our reality" is one which has troubled me since I was able to see the problem...We have no choice though. It becomes interesting in boundary conditions..When one thing 'becomes' another...
Going to dig up my copy of "Experience and Nature" now.

I've only been watching your videos a few days but I'm already astounded by the clarity of your explanations.
