I love this video; the song is very Bones-y, if that makes sense.
I see it like this: Bones and Jim have always been close, and Bones has always harbored feelings for him. Then they meet Spock, and both of them fall for the Vulcan. K/S ensues, but, since Bones wants them to be happy, he won't mention his feelings (except to himself) in order to avoid drama and awkwardness.

I agree! I'm most definately a Spock/McCoy shipper myself.
Very lovely video! That song is so cute and sweet. =)

OH, this song. I nearly cried. Thank goodness this is not the end of the story! Once they've been through death, and back again, together in the movies, Kirk was right to say they became family. McCoy, you get them both, and they get you. It's a bargain all around.

True that. I think they'll grow into them, though - give 'em time, and few more movies. :3

D'aaaaw. I liked this; it's very...soft. soothing, you know?
i can picture Kirk making a bridge between he, Spock and Bones. Spock and McCoy talking their troubles and worries out over a midnight cap, trading Kirk stories, growin a wee bit closer in the process.
Ah, plus I'm a sucker for McSpirk. :3

@RindaDiLibda Friend or foe? It's not either/or/sort of - it's (IMO) both. Yes, they can get on each other's nerves & can be downright mean to each other. But Spock's affection for Bones is plain when McCoy's in danger, as in Miri, The Empath or The World Is Hollow. Bones is willing to die for Spock in The Empath & his concern for Spock is evident other times.Much of their interaction is teasing, not antagonistic. And in TWOK, it's McCoy who gets Spock's katra. They're friends.

This new film takes place several years before TOS too. It's about them being thrown together in an emergency situation, whereas TOS drops us right in on top of already-established relationships and more mature characters. It makes sense that they would be different.

There is another thing which is totally fascinating, When it comes to Kirk and in critical moments, Kirk being in danger, Kirk losing himself, his control.. Spock gets all emotional and McCoy becomes the logical ones, in "Tholain Web", all episode Spock reaction was not logical and endangered the ship only to get Kirk back, while McCoy acted more logical demanding the ship to leave the space for the safety of the crew. I mean, the trio are amazing.. the relationships are really conflicting
-
Did he ever feel a bit jealous of Spock closeness with Kirk? If he did, he sure did not sure any of that jealousy. BUT, it amazes me how McCoy sometimes defends Spock when conflicting with Kirk, once he sees the logic, he agrees with Spock, declared Spock is the best Science officer in the fleet, "Operation Annihilate" season 1. He does not show that hatred at critical moments. So, what it is? Is it only Human/Vulcans conflict which tenses their relationship or it is Kirk affection? or both?

Let's see how my mind analyzes the relationship of the trio. Kirk and McCoy were friends first back in the Academy. Then, Kirk and Spock became closer and closer especially once the two got on the Enterprise. What about McCoy? I mean, McCoy's relationship with Spock has always been very tensed, for example "The Tholian Web" season 3. Always challenging Spock even after all thought that Kirk died, he couldn't stop hurting Spock even it became hideously personal.

The Doctor Knows, yes he does.. He knows about Kirk and Spock, and he knows lots of things he is not sharing. But, those stuff sure adds more depth to McCoy's character fitting between those two. I mean, I have always been fascinated about McCoy and Spock's relationship because I couldn't understand it very well. Kirk and Spock relationship is obvious as Gene Roddenberry intended to be - a LOVE relationship. But, what about McCoy and Spock? Friends or Simply Foes, or in between...
Wonderful! Who is singing that song?
