Ever wonder what it's like to hit over 200 MPH in the quarter mile?
Thanks to the new HOT ROD Magazine ride-along program, you can now experience the excitement and pure violence of a 200+ MPH run down the drag strip in a street legal car!
In this video we ride along with Jeff Lutz in his wicked fast '57 Chevy with a Pat Musi twin turbo power plant. Jeff and his son, seen in this video guiding the Chevy into the staging beam, ran on the heels of Larry Larson for the entire 2010 Drag Week only to blow flames through the block and head on the last night of competition.

  • the switch activated before launch is the data recorder, saves time not having to look through burn out and pre-stage data. The on off switch's kill all electrical power in case of an accident

  • I see it very often, what is the purpose of the switch on the back of the back??

  • cool video!! ....wish my car was that fast..

  • as a car fanatic and an old fan of japanese cars, i really don't get how these little kids can justify defending 4cyl fwd cars on the drag strip.. until this drag week event started, maybe they could argue these cars are not street cars.. not now! this video is insane!!!!

  • @OutlawTen5Camaro he did shift twice, watch the shifter in the car.... must be a typo...

  • Switch in the back of the car is a Data Recorder that alot of racers are now using. I see this on a website and it said it was a powerglide in the car but it sounds like it shifted twice
