Holy Hell! Part 1

The purpose of this video is to refute the abhorrent doctrine of hell within the context of the Bible, and to address the unconscionable attitude manasseh41 has displayed.

I do not believe in the validity of the Bible or in the deity it centers around, but I'm using the content of the Bible because while there is plenty of contextual refutation to be found, there is very little criticism of "Biblical" doctrine in mainstream Christianity, and this psychologically scarring concept needs to be exposed at all levels so that nobody has to live their lives in total fear.

Now this rattled me because it hit pretty close to home, and I'll expand on that in the video.
(BTW, I know I misused the word "vagaries", which means something entirely different than what I meant. Also, keep in mind it turned out PatrickONB's comment and manasseh41's original comment were both a month old when I commented, which I hadn't noticed until manasseh41 brought it up.)

Because God gave us our own personal free will. A loving Father would not force someone who wants to be apart from Him to be spend eternity in His presence. You call it "Mythology", I call it truth.Jesus Christ was without sin. God sent Him in that point in time revealed through the Jewish culture , so that it could be historically documented- his death, his ressurection- witnessed by hundreds- to show us the truth. The more you pull away from God the more you fall into deception.

@VASINGER It's not historically documented. The only thing we could call a historical reference is the New Testament, which is bundled with manifold absurdities and not a reliable historical source. The Bible reads a lot like the Epic of Gilgamesh if the Epic of Gilgamesh wasn't crammed with waves of genealogy and petty tribal politics. The Epic of Gilgamesh is of historical importance as a cultural reference, not as a reference for facts.

@prolefeedprocessor Yes it is. Its a history book of the Jewish people. Jesus Christ not just a preacher. He fulfilled Jewish prophecy. God revealed Himself in that point in time. This is where faith comes in. We dont have all the answers- but faith is what we have. Everything else is a lie. There's so many false religions, false teachings. It all ends up to a dead end path. The Jews were different. This is why God chose them. The more you fall into deception, the harder it will be.

@VASINGER He was a preacher as far as the Romans were concerned. The point is there is no record of him. And the legitimacy of any book is called into question when donkeys start talking casually to their owners, men stop the sun by holding a staff in the air (something that would have been recorded the world 'round), and other such nonsense. It can only be used as a cultural reference, not a historical one.

I'd also like to know how Christianity is any more credible than other belief systems.

@VASINGER preacher named Yeshua. All we have to go on were the leaders of the religion and their accounts of the story. Not reliable, as they had to gain what all cult leader have to gain. A loving Father would not make anyone choose between spending eternity living with him and spending eternity burning. That's not compassion, that's compulsion.

you say the OT makes no reference to hell but this is wrong at the end of the book of isiah it says that at the end of all things the unsaved will be preserved in fire (like the bush that moses saw)

@spynu85 Jesus is the Messengers of God, Messengers are those who tell us the message from God. One among many Prophets, Prophets are those peoples that sent by God. One among many Messiah, Mesiah are those peoples that sent by God for save their peoples from the cruelty of another human and from the punishment of God. And yes, The Day of Judgement in near, even our death is near, death just like a sleeping, a time machine to The Day of Judgement.
