  • ive been to singapore and had a very hard time understanding some locals, i was like, im sorry? can you say that again? whut? can, cannot?

  • Oi.. For those noobs, who dislike singlishh.. I wanna say that not all Singaporean can only speak singlish.. Singlish is like the language for us to communicate with other Singaporean . But when we talk to foreigners .. We don't speak singlish.. We can speak standard English. It's like we can switch it.. But I think Singlish is a skill.. Because when foreigners, go to coffee shop and order something , u need to speak singlish.. They don't like accent.. In conclusion, I am prod to be Singaporean

  • @viola128 i disagree, there is definitely room for Singlish to evolve, but it doesn't mean we should not embrace it. Its a part of who we are and where we came from.

  • Indian is not a language, its a race...

  • I'm an HKer living overseas but I would like to learn Singlish too because I admire Singapore very much and it has a very nostalgic feeling of HK in the golden 80s where I partly grew up, but it's clean, organized, and cream of the crop countries in the world. I find that the environment and the people appear very similar to HK. I'm glad that Singlish being recognized as an international language.

  • @viola128 the younger generation DO know how to speak english.but singlish is just a representative of our multi-racial country

  • singaporean should not be proud of singlish. Some of us did not have a chance to learn proper english and it became mixture of chinese-hokkien type of mix english. I don't have a problem with that becasue they are trying their best to learn. however, we should do something about this. At least, our younger generation, those that are in school, should learn to speak proper english. we don't need british or american accent what so ever, just, proper englsih. !!!

  • Ahhhh but thennnnn!

  • still dono wat is singlish? go watch PCK~

  • @whydoesmypussysmell oh btw you should have already expected flack for blatantly insulting us by calling us Singaporeans ugly. use a brain, think.
