RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) -- "At Last" and "Tell Mama" blues singer Etta James, whose health has been fading in recent years, is now terminally ill, and her live-in doctor is asking for prayers.Etta James Dead at 73: 'At Last' Singer Dies After Leukemia Battle
Dr. Elaine James, who isn't related to the 73-year-old entertainer, tells the Riverside Press-Enterprise that the singer's chronic leukemia was declared incurable two weeks ago.
The doctor has cared for Etta James at the singer's Riverside, Calif., area home since March 2010.

@CharlesBarry I agree with you, her died was a shock to me and I adored her. I seen her a few times in concert. She is my favorite female singer. Her grand son even played the drums on one song he had to be 6 years old at that time. I hope she in heaven and Knows how much she was loved and her music will live on. Best wishes to her family. She will be greatly missed.

Etta. you were one of the greatest... today's world, I think they don't or cannot make people like you... too much commercialism and money... human souls are sucked out and replaced by greed... very difficult to find genuine people who can sink from deep inside. you had it girl and we mourn you and pay homage to your life. way to go and thank you for being who you were.
