I've always been a little bit of a smart alec and sometimes can be a little impractical. A couple years ago while job hunting, I thought of this clever way of sending my resume, as it was frequently requested, in "electronic format." I'm sure this isn't exactly what HR departments had in mind.
Notes:
* This is entirely my design
* The circuit is completely off until exposed to light, giving it a long shelf-life
* I wrote the MIDI processor/sequence-generator in Python.
* The board uses a cooperative multitasking RTOS that I designed and wrote in C. Real-time performance was necessary for the music and the rest of the application is still responsive while music is playing.
* Since making this, I have worked a couple contracts in the electronics industry.
Pretty Cool I must say! How much did it cost to build?

The number I seem to remember is 18$/unit. I think that included the cost of my circuit boards -- there tends to be a moderate fixed setup fee. The I can't imagine the bill of materials costing more than about 10$/unit (the LCD displays were surplus and cost me less than $5)
