Nice video, I enjoyed it. Me and my friend are first time mountain climbers and are waiting for the next nice night to climb. It sounds like for beginners we should probably use the old chute on the way up and back down, would you think that to be best? And did you guys go on a weekday or weekend? Thanks

Is the Old Chute route technically more challenging than the Pearly Gates route this year?

We planed for a Friday but watched the weather and bumped it up for a clear day on Wed. Ya getting off the hogs back to the pearly gates was very steep. the old chute is straight forward.

No Old Chute is straight forward and easy enough, rope was really not necessary on the day we went, We descended the "old chute". Traversing off of the Hogs back to get over to the Pearly gates was really exposed and steep.
