How To Make the "Like a G6" Synth

Hmmmmm not sure if i should be posting this up...dont quite know how it turned out?? haha well a youtube user requested me help them make a similar sound to the G6 synth so i couldn't just leave them hanging so this is why i feel that i will still post the vid. Keep the flaming to a minimum please haha :-)

Important to note that in the real song, nearly every time a synth note is played, a kick drum is also being played - thats what is giving them that oomph at the start of each note. In the vid, i just made the synth.

nzmusic, I love your videos and this is only meant to be helpful:

Open ES2, and using only osc1 set it to sine. With filters set to series (side by side) drag to the left filter and open the cutoff about 3/5, res about 3/4, and drive about 3/5.

Set the es2 distortion to fully distorted, fully bright soft distortion. No effects, unison mode if you'd like, with attack a 1.6 ms and 220 ms, and glide at about 1/4.

There's your G6 synth, the cataracs aren't very complex

What was the original sound you started with? I followed all of that directly but mine doesn't sound quite like that. The glide isn't working for me for some reason.
