An update of my boysenberries as they are becoming ripe on the canes. This is only their second season in the ground so they are bound to do even better next year. I'm so surprised that the birds have not found them yet. I have water out on the ground for the birds and other critters so they hopefully will leave my garden alone. This tip was given to me by a long-time resident of the high desert here and it seems to help. the idea is that they already have their native food sources so if you give them some water they won't tear up your crops for the moisture they contain. They also won't chew up your water distribution hoses and tubing.
