an airborne foul was an old rule when the offensive player elevates to the basket and the defender is positioned to where the offensive player can be "undercut" or have their legs taken out from under them while in the air then it's an automatic defensive "airborne" foul
the rule has long been abolished and now in today's era an airborne foul is an automatic "blocking" foul

this game is what made college basketball as popular as it is now. Before then, if i remember correctly, not many people watched the games because they felt 16 seeds was much more than needed.
