Carbon Fiber sometimes gets a bad rap as being easier to damage or break than other high end materials used in bike frames. Dave at PV Bicycle Center begs to differ. But he is quick to also point out that there are ways to deal with maintaining your carbon frame, and taking care of minor to medium damage. Get all the details here. To talk to Dave give a call to PV Bicycle Center at 310-377-7441. The shop is a specialized concept store offering the latest in every aspect of cycling. Their bicycle fitting center is the best in So Cal. They offer rides, classes, and clinics every week. Their weekly newsletter keeps everyone up to date. As you can see in this video, they are one of the few shops who will even discuss carbon fiber repair.
An easy drive from the 405 or 110 Freeways, the shop is located at the just three scenic miles from the corner of Hawthorne Blvd and PCH.

This is pretty terrible advice. Carbon damage isn't very visible, and will propagate if not properly treated. If you've got cosmetic damage, you've probably got more serious damage underneath that you aren't treating by painting over it. Get the damage appraised by an expert and then, if it is more than cosmetic, send it to a professional for repair. Calfee does very good frame repairs, as do a few other carbon builders.
