Announcers like this are strongly hindering American interest in track and field. 95% of the people watching this race probably cared much more about the two Americans (ritz and teg) then two guys from halfway around the world. So why would they barely acknowledge them the entire race? And why would they nonchalantly mention Teg's AMERICAN RECORD!? Sure he didn't win... but this is an AMERICAN broadcast of an AMERICAN track meet. It's just kind of disgusting

I have to disagree with you upon the interest of the runners, but it is true, they should have acknowledged Tegenkamp's American Record. Let's just face it; the only good coverage you're going to get for a sport in this country is Football, and I'm not talking about the real Football >_>
