Two completely separate movies, (with the exception of a cast member-- Johnny Depp), use the same musical score for their trailers which I find hilarious and strange.

Being a Depp-fan, I was instantly reminded of 'Pirates' when watching the "Sweeney Todd" trailer but NOT because of Johnny, but because of the music.

  • This happens all the time, lol. I could list a bazillion films all with the same trailer music.

  • Haha. I did the same thing when I first saw the Sweeney Todd trailer.

  • I never realized that! OMG!

  • Danny elfman created the music for sweeney and the musical director in pirates asked danny if he could borrow a clip of the song.

So your right it is the same song but its a different part of the same song.

    Problem solved

  • thats because johnny depp is in both so i guess they decided to mix it

  • Hahaha, the fact that it has music from the Sweeney Todd musical dosen't surprise me for the Sweeney trailer.

  • I hadn't really noticed that they were the same music but Wow!! IT's odd cause the only similarity is that Johnny Depp starts in each of the movies. You would thinkk if they had the same director then maybe. But they don't..... Does anyone know if they have the same composer (person who chooses the music)

  • i noticed that in Sweeney Todd, Depp says "At last, my arm is complete again!" and when he says this I immediately thought of Captain Jack.

  • The music is a combination of:

"Inhuman Growth" - Two Steps From Hell

"Return Of The King (No Vox)" - X-Ray Dog

    "Epiphany" - Stephen Sondheim

"No Place Like London" - Stephen Sondheim

"Etoll Avil Hits" - Robert Etoll

"Symphonic Shoker E" - Robert Etoll

Found this on SoundtrackNet. They have a list of every trailer and the music it uses. Pretty awesome!

  • Anybody know the name of that piece of music? I keep trying to find it and have so far had no luck.
