@XxSERBKINGxX actually after the breakup of the soviet union, varyag the sistership of admiral kuznetsov, was inherited by the ukraine. Ukraine had no interest in carrier, so they sold it to China. Russia wanted to complete it's construction, but ukraine sold it for a cheap price.

Reasons why russia doesn't have a large carrier force, 1- they started developing carriers in the 70's when they built 4 kiev semi aircraft carriers other countries have had carriers since the 1920's. 2- once they finally start building true aircraft carriers in the 80's their economy collapsed with the soviet union, they actually had nuclear power aircraft carriers under construction. Today they would probably have around 6 carriers if shit had not hit the fan.
