@mrhighlander2003 Forget it. It is a hassle to remove the built in heat sink and the RFX 75 will sound AWFUL on SSB!!! Trust me here. I just removed mine from my Galaxy 959 because it sounded so distorted and crappy.. The RFX 75 is a class C AM amp and nothing more. Thats why it is sold so cheaply.

@jlafnear352 90 watts!!,, What the hell do you want??Every meter is different unless using a bird,,I get around 90-100 cold then after it gets hot I lose a few,,nature of the mosfet,,I also suggest using L-17 to bring the power down to around 4 swinging 70,,it will run ALOT cooler and still walk all over any dual final radio.Cant beat the punch this thing has for 40 bucks.
-
Dont worry guys,, I will be posting a step by step vid.this Winter on how to do this on a uniden pc 78,,
same thing as cobra 29,, 577-Tomcat Jersey ;-)

Why would you cut audio limiter for a few more watts, no one will notice a few more watts...

i looked at the install sheet for this, and first it says to cut the rf out cable off of the rfx board, but later in the instructions it says to solder the rf out to somewhere on the 29 board, im not sure what to do with it. and i dont want to go cutting stuff before i am sure. can you help me with that?
thanks.

Dont try to use one on a SSB radio or it will sound like doggie poo poo!!!!

@D0cTerG0nZ0 Well I don't know what you are trying to say for sure, If you have a RFX-75 on it make sure you have a 7-10 amp fuse in the power cord. If you don't then you make have a Protection diode blown inside the radio.
