Here's me playing one of my favorite songs from Michael Hedges. The original song is from Henry Mancini, but I've always preferred Hedges Haunting rendition.

  • I have listened to your version several times over the years. I used to be able to play it, although not nearly as clean as you. Now I need to relearn it and post my version because yours is so good that I'm not sure if mine (only different phrasings than yours) is better??? Then I realized it didn't matter because you made me listen to it through your "eyes" and that is all any artist can hope for. Very nicely done!!!!! Mr Hedges would be proud!!!!!!

  • NICE.............tuning please

  • This is a wonderful version and my favorite and you did an incredible job of it here. Thank You for sharing man.

  • Wonderful theme!!

Michael Hedges made a great arrangement!!!

    Is it on Oracle album

  • When other people cover songs in fingerstyle you can easily tell what song they're covering, with this song upon listening to the original It took me ages to actually recognise any comparisions, Michael was way ahead of the rest.

  • Great to bring his sound to life again.

  • Beautiful...played with sincerity and beautiful tone. You made my day with that actually! Cheers!

  • Great posting, great cover by Michael Hedges who (I think) re-wrote the score this way with this tuning, and great original composition by Henry Mancini ! I've never seen the movie, but maybe this weekend, as I'm learning this tune as well .... & I have the same Yamaha SG-100 (steel string version) - it is very good for recording, and good onboard reverb too, but goes thru 9V batteries faster than a taco salesman goes thru toilet paper !!

  • thank you for showing me how to hear an old favorite in a whole new way.
