From the album "Individual Thought Patterns" (1993).

Lyrics:

Your existence is a script,
life for you is a perfomance,
play out the leading role.
Directing and premeditating every move
That creates the act of manipulation
Mastering the art of deception.
That increases your sick addiction
It's an overactive imagination
that enslaves your empty shell
[Lead: Chuck]

Existing in dimensions of addictive obsession
[Lead: Andy]

Your script will run short of ideas
The story will soon end itself
People to trust come short in number.
Like a plague your lies spread
fast across the world
Mastering the art of deception
That increases your sick addition
It's an overactive imagination
that enslaves your empty shell

  • i think Chuck Schuldiner was the most complete musician in metal ever. great songwriter, great lyrics, unique vocals, unique riffs, singing while playing, technically superb melodic solos SECOND TO NONE

Sure, I know that. What I meant was there are lots of women not really into music or only listen to whatever radio pop they are fed. I've always been way into music and found I dont vibe that well with a musically dull girl.

This going to sound bad, but fuck it. Each time I meet a girl that ONLY listens to the local pop stations they are dumb as a rock. Dull talk, not interesting, & usually they dont seem to think about anything but what they see at the time. Not for me

  • Death's Climax Album!!

  • 1:45, most technical riff on this whole album. Great song, great solos, great riffs, great drumming, great bass.

I have given up trying to convince women why I like Death. Its a pretty tough sell considering its aggressive nature. I have gone out with girls that never even knew I played guitar. I doubt they would appreciate being able to play Origin, Death, or Spawn of Possession.

I just accept that it doesnt really cater to their emotions. Thats why you have to find 'compromise music'. Meet in the middle & find stuff you both like. If you can't it won't work if you really love music.

Who cares, I like being judged and proving them wrong. And I like people being scared to talk to me, saves me all the trouble to tell them to piss off. We've all got our close friends and I believe we don't want some random people bothering us with their stupid questions and stuff, right?

Ohh yeah, I agree on the diversity theory too. Though, I always pick ones that are not quite into Death but then I change their opinions. It feels good to spread the good music. :)

Thanks. Many people have sent me messages saying they agree.

Gotta be careful though, listening to death metal gets you judged as well. I'm really fucked up haha, I dress somewhat preppy like Diesel & Polo, etc., I like goth or unique looking women, and listen to/play death metal.

Music is a reliable gauge as long as they have diversity. You also have to accept a woman who likes a few shitty groups. (unless its Ke$ha) You cannot expect many women listen to or like Death.

  • @Juggernaut76 'This is going to sound bad, ...' ? It's complete truth man, I believe most of us here agree with you. People say it's not true but whenever I have judged someone by their taste in music, I've never been wrong. They can lie about their taste in music, sure, but what they truly like is what matters. Clothes and behavior can trick you but music taste never will!

  • @Juggernaut76 It's the goldfish syndrome. Can't think more than 10 seconds ahead, can't remember 10 seconds in the past.

  • @hadijoge1 Possibly the the best guitar duo ever on a Death album. The drums and bass are`nt too shabby either :)

  • I bought this album 18 years ago & was blown away by the musicianship of Chuck & his band ... Fast forward to 2012 & i'm still blown away. Andy LaRocque compliments this album beautifully.

  • im becoming obssesed with this band
