TAKE AN INTERGALACTIC JOURNEY with the space age adventurer DILDANO (played by a 16 year old Cliff Carson) and featuring noted cinematographer BILL BURTON. Cinema Showcase host and Creative Loafing critic JIM WHALEY directed this little Sc-FI romp back in the 70's. If Barbarella and Flesh Gordon got together this would be their child. Completely inspired by the Roger Vadim / Jane Fonda cult classic with a bit of 2001 a Space Odyssey thrown in.
For years I couldn't look at this film. I was told that it would be very cinematic and psychedelic which in some ways it was. Even at 16 I was embarrassed to be wearing that outfit but I was assured by a 28 year old JIM WHALEY that it would all work out. When he showed me the film I wanted to destroy it. I told him I wouldn't do anymore and that's where filming stopped. This is what survived. Looking back on it now, I'm sorry I didn't complete it. It's silly, gay and low budget, but kind of charming.

A man was having dreams. He remembered them and wrote a script. It became this movie. He stopped overdosing and the dreams stopped. He faded into obscurity.

The special effects are amazing, and so is Cliff Carson's "Dildano" costume (but not in the same context). haha
The set design is an excellent concept, though I wonder if the little staue(that appears around the 07:19 mark) isn't the REAL dildano! haha Nope...the real Dildano shows up around 10:04 mark!!
Seriously, alot of today's horror movies insert blue light "post production" whereas here it is "in the lens" - looks good! It's a shame Jim didn't get to finish this film...

Unbelievable! The print is crystal clear! I LOVE the Spaceship, FX and Cliff's eh-hem...costume! I have always appreciated Jim Whaley's skill behind the camera lens-Cliff's talent AND willingness to perform...This is a 70's timecapsule! Thanks Cliff for having the "beans" to showcase Babarella meets Flesh Gordon!
