PacMan CE (Championship Mode) - 523k

Wow.

Okay... first of all, I know I'm good at the game, but I'll be the first to admit that I just got s@#t lucky with this round. The stars and planets aligned, and the ghosts just lined up for me nicely, particularly between 4:30 and 4:15, which gave me close to 90k at the 4:00 mark. The extra speed boost that provided is what really helped with the rest of the game... even despite the death at the 2:29 mark, I started the first "Egg" maze with over a minute left - normally I'm at about 55-seconds, even without a death. That one death, though - it at least brought all the ghosts to the middle, where I was able to keep them well corralled.




Some good steering and choices - and more luck - did the rest. Slightly better steering at the end may have given a few more ghosts, but... still, I'm happy. This puts me at #3 in the leaderboards (ignoring the glitched 600k score).

DecepitonShockSaw - I am in awe of your abilities at this game. I don't foresee myself getting another 500k score for a while!

I think maybe it's time I took a break from this game and finish Fable II like I've been meaning to. ;)

I actually find it easier to survive the candies and get them all to the middle. I die alot at the keys and the stages before. Loved your captions too, but no selling this short as a "lucky run", this is gold and you are well deserving of the #2 best score of all time!! Finally someone knocked S Shoxo off the top of the weekly leaderboards :)

Heya; thanks for the kind words. It just comes down to experience, particularly in the crucial key/candy stages, keeping the steering in check and making some good choices to keep the ghosts corralled nicely (and some luck to have them in the central area first!). My roommate's in the 410k range, but he needs to improve his steering to get to 450k.

I had forgotten the (now-) #3 score was also from a bug - thanks for reminding me!

The death put you in the perfect position at the key...and missing a ghost or two near the end actually was offset by giving you extra time to get a few more at the clover level. Many tend to forget that the act of eating ghosts take precious time...

Just a"maze"d at the amount of time you STILL had left after the key...amost 2 whole minutes....man!!!

Right...that second "bug" score is now mixed in with the legitimate ones. There is a bit of luck or circumstance with the top players....comes down to that one game where, as you put it, the planets align (as do the ghosts). Kind of like the top Ms. Pac-Man players being of similar skill but having different score due to random fruit.

You're only the second player to match what the XBox 360 Pac-Man World Champion, Carlos Borrego, has done. Well done! You've earned that break!!!!

The only "luck" that you really got was at the start, but I have had that happen plenty of times, only difference I fall apart knowing I am doing well. You also set up for eating stages the same way as me, except I just have it so I can go straight up. You had plenty of time, so that death actually helped you. (cont)
