I find it kind of strange how this event is starting to look more like a variety circus performance than a gymnastic/acro competition.  Not saying it won't be great, but it's not what I was expecting when I first heard about it.

Is this because of the pictures shown in this video? Just to know: the clips in this video are from world gymnaestrada 2007 in Dornbirn, as there can't be any video footage of gym for life challenge yet as it is the first of it's kind. gymnaestrada is very "freestyle" of course, i don't know if GfL will be the same. Even though it is "freestyle" as well, there will be a jury, so maybe groups will concentrate more on competitition elements? we will see :)

Well after attending this year's Gym For Life Challenge I must stand by the comment I made 3 months ago. The criteria for assessment was far too broad. Acts ranged from acro and tumbling, artistic and rhythmic gymnastics to aerobic and contemporary dance. Some routines even had jugglers and singers! The whole thing was like a circus audition. I felt sorry for the groups that strictly obeyed one discipline, such as acro. They were slated for not being diverse enough.
