I use to have a Black headed caique and she just started hopping one day and I just would get excited and say hop, hop , hop and she kept doing it. It was the most adorable thing she ever did.

Well everytime you see her hop you say hop. Another way is to gently hold her and then bounce her up and down while saying hop hop hop. Eventually they get the connection. Since this is a natrual behavior is is easy to train. Good luck!
