Existem talvez 6 ou 8 destas maravilhosas maquinas entregues à ferrugem e ao descaso no cais do porto, em Porto Alegre RS, Brasil.

this is really cool, but thank christ for modern engineering, it looks like it takes forever to do anything with that contraption

Great stuff . Keep up the good work.
OK, help me out here as Im trying to understand these old beauties. The engine runs on coal, and the boom/arm/bucket trap door run from pressurised steam instead of hydraulic fluid, correct? Thanks.

@lugger2010 Everything runs on steam, except that the bucket door is just a latch that you open by pulling the trip rope.

I was in Brownsville PA in 1988 .alot of the equipment at that time belonged to Dean Redd

@drub205dine269 The equipment has passed to other club members, but nobody is in a hurry to paint out his name. He did an awful lot for machinery preservation in PA.
The Erie B at Brownsville now is not Dean's, that one was a high front, and sold somewhere out east. This one was owned by Rusty McGinness, of Dover OH. He showed it at various shows for many years, when he got too old he donated it to the club. Wish I had good videos of him operating it, he was a real master.
