After another season I'd agree with you now. Actually keeping the throttle on full causes the engine to over-rev and if the prop is spinning too fast when it hits the water as it slows down it can bend the drive shaft.
As usual it's different people say totally different things.
Also, I know who you are too...incredible!

btw blista, it is better to ease off the throttle in the air so the engine is under less strain, aslong as you throttle up a little when you hit the water it will be fine plus you are forgetting the cavitation if you hit the water at full throttle,
