Here is an analysis of one way that pastors deal with the plain teaching of Scripture when they do not agree with it. For a full written analysis of the sermon, please go here:

Please listen to the full sermon for proper context:

The video clip used is taken from "Amazing Grace: The History and Theology of Calvinism." It is a fantastic 6 hour explanation of the doctrines of grace!

  • bygracealone01, I already do , but thanks for your good advice!............ And I wish more Christians would put their effort into getting unified instead of dividing the body of Christ! How do they expect to bring none-believers to Christ, if they can't agree among themselves?!

  • @mashtee2003 The Bible never, ever tells us to be united by abandoning doctrine. We are to be united by being of one mind. We must all strive to believe the same thing.

Also, what saves non-believers is the Word of God, not our unity - thus our primary focus should be to proclaim the whole counsel of God's Word. Unity in the body is important, but it is secondary to proclaiming His Word.

  • Mike Erre had a big part in me becoming a Christian, I was not born into a Christian family, nor am I from USA.

  • @mashtee2003 Praise God

  • The maker of this video is completely taking the pastor out of context. I know because I attend his church. Also, being born again and faith take place at the same time. I can get into this into detail if someone is interested. The Bible clearly teaches both predestination and free will. It does the same with sanctification. We are changed by the Holy Spirit, but we are to excercise unto Godliness. Somehow God is sovereign and somehow we are participating.

  • Thanks for your comments. I really have no idea what your attendance at his church has to do with the context. I used to attend the church as well. If you will notice in the description of the video I provided a link to the full sermon and told people to listen to the whole sermon for proper context.
