WARNING - SPOILERS
If you haven't seen this movie, I wouldn't recommend watching the end first, but it's a great scene. Carlo Battisti is amazing as Umberto and De Sica leaves hope and happiness in this ending. Hope you can understand it without subtitles.

I´ve lost my dog few days ago. I make my self believe she left to a better palce. Sadness engolfs me without worning. Too many memories... Thank you Vittorio De Sica for your touchig insights, You make me cry the good sadness.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Just like Flike, dogs sometimes seem to offer us a reason to live. I hope you remember your dog fondly.

I read it's being remade in Brooklyn this year with Dominic Chianese from the Sopranos. It's a timeless, universal story, so it should be good.

How about finding hope when you're hopeless? That there's light even in the darkest moments?
