Lecture presented by Professor Adiel Schremer, Tikvah Fellow NYU School of Law, Associate Professor in Bar-Ilan University's Department of Jewish History, head of the Halpern Center for the Study of Jewish Self-Perception, and fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem, and Professor Steven D. Fraade, Mark Taper Professor of the History of Judaism and Chair, Program in Judaic Studies, Yale University.

This event served as the official launch of Professor Schremers new book, "Brothers Estranged: Heresy, Christianity, and Jewish Identity in Late Antiquity."

Participants discussed the relation of the early rabbinic discourse of heresy to the parallel early Christian discourse of heresy, and the overwhelming power of the Roman Empire.
