After 1,5 years of planning, buying, building, testing and training the day of decision has come........

FPV= abbreviation for "First Person View"
RPV= "Remote Piloted Vehicle"
UAV= "Unmanned Aerial Vehicle"

"FAIL SAFE" on the screen= no control over the plane (loss of RC signal)

Wikipedia:
Millennium Tower, located in Vienna, is the tallest building and 2nd tallest structure in Austria at 171 meters (561 feet) after the Donauturm (Danube Tower).
An antenna mounted on top of the tower brings the architectural height to 202 metres (663 feet) but does not count to its overall height.
The tower has 51 floors, serves both commercial and residential purposes, and is the focal point of a complex known as "Millennium City".
The Millennium Tower was built in an extremely short construction time: Thanks to efficient organization of all work steps and modern building techniques have created an average of 2 ½ floors a week and the building completed in 1999.

I think a FPV video consists of:
1) Picture Quality (Vibrations, interference, signal loss,...)
An external HD camcorder on the plane is no real FPV, only the picture you are flying with counts!
2) Editing (Cutting, music,...)
3) Pilot skills (nastycop420, Gabriel2584,....)
4) Location (Grand Canyon, big city ....)
5) Creativity (Chasing cars, firing rockets, crazy stunts...)
6) Thrill (High speed low pass, almost crash....)
7) Scale Plane+ Cockpit: 3 extra points
Maybe a "risk factor" should be added to the rating: There is a huge difference if it is possible to see the plane never again (over water, buildings, mountains) or if there is the danger to hurt/kill people.
The loss of money is included in the "Scale plane/cockpit" factor.

Costs altogether, with RC flight simulator, RC transmitter, charger, batteries: approx 2000 Euro
Money you need at the beginning: 3000 Euro (crashes included)
But you need much time to be able to handle the technology.........

Range in high altitude (more than 100m):
RC approx. 1,5km (cheap RC receiver, no DS= double superheterodyne)
FPV approx. 3km
Half the range in big cities because of jammers!

Recording with Canon MVX200i Mini DV PAL Camcorder
Deinterlacing with "Alparysoft Deinterlace" with "Cedocida DV Codec" and Virtual Dub
Editing with Ulead Videostudio 11
Compressing with Xvid, Single Pass, Quantizer 2, MP3 256 kps CBR
This is the best possible quality in my opinion (with this camera, transmitter setup)

If I would have to rebuild the plane I would use only Pico-Servos (9g class, like the Hitec HS-65HB), no decals and painting to reduce the weight and a 500- 800mW video transmitter (1000mW is too powerful :-D, too hot and heavy)
