A very technical trail with some major exposure that descends from the top of Poison Spider Mesa to the Colorado River. Done at the tail end of an epic ride from Gemini Bridges to Gold Bar Rim to Blue Dot. A must do for anyone craving a technical, ledgy downhill trail. Short but worth it.

Great video!! Done it ~10 times since 1990... it's just that crazy! Used to be, you couldn't really ride until you did 'The Portal'. It is short, but it never lets up either. Last time (2007?)we did it, had to hike-a-bike a bunch of sections that we used to ride. It's gotten beat up over the yrs. Still a great ride to notch the belt with.

Great riding and terrific filming! Also an exceptional choice of music! Helmut cam and the Pixies makes it seem almost surreal.

I've been up there years ago. Nice riding crazy trail - tests your mettle... 99% of bikers couldn't ever think of doing it without walking as little as you did.

@philavenger90 hahaha ya you little sissy, Even XC. losers riding UP mountains..good for you have way better endurance than me, but I hike my heavy ass downhill bike to the top, sit down and crack a few tall boys, smoke a few joints, smoke a cigaret, and Then let gravity do its thing as I effortlessly mob down the knar-core with 9 awsumly plush inches of travel while hucking off 30 foot cliffs..I have a dirtbike that gets me UP hills reallly fast.
