As per the day of this upload, I'm still in pain. I can't bend my knees without wincing and biting back against the urge to call out. BUT I'm still smiling :)

@koultin24 Hi sweetie, you are definitely not alone, I didn't know I had Sickle Cell until I was 11 yrs old when I had my 1st major crisis, at the time life felt as if it went downhill from there because people often didn't believe how much pain I was in or thought I was making it up. Check out sicklecellwarriorsdotcom for information & inspiration. It's a lot easier to manage if you at least know why you are in pain & how to avoid crisis where possible. Keep smiling!

You are such an inspiration! I'm in love with someone with sickle cell and I could never imagine my life without him. Sometimes it's difficult because more than anything I want to take that pain away from him and place it into my body. I keep praying that one day God will allow man to find a cure and that way this irrelevance can be destroyed. I'm so glad I found this video. You're not only giving hope to those with sickle cell but also us who have loved ones struggling with it. Thank you. God

@BrandonandMichelle1 Michelle, thank heaven for you! As much as you would love to take the pain for your partner, I coud bet you that if it were possible, he wouldn't let you. What means everything, is your continued love, support and understanding. I myself have a partner that is so incredibly supportive and having someone like that is the most amazing of blessings that give strength where we think there is no more to be found.

So very true! I think I would be less compassionate if I didn't have sickle cell. I've become stronger in body and spirit for it, but the pain can be so intense you pray for release.

pain is just a burden going trough it is HORRIBLE but looking back at it it makes me stronger and makes you want to hold your head up high because you cant let it get to you
