Its a T-33 trainer, but this is 1 nice airplane.

Actually is almost exactly the type of Lockheed F-80, single seat, from the 50's.
The T-33 have double seat canopy and also external wingtip tanks. Bolivia has 9 T-33 in operation. Chile used 4 F-80's in the 50's and 60's in the National Air Acrobatic Team. "The Silver Condors". These plane brings great memories.

I was excited when I saw the title and disappointed when I saw the actual footage, which is a fairly routine look at a restored T-33A Shooting Star (not an F-80) taxying out. There hasn't been an airworthy F-80 in the United States for decades. For more details do a search on "Winston's Garden."

T-33 it may be, but it's still a beautiful ship.

WIKIPEDIA:
The Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star is an American-built jet trainer aircraft. It was produced by Lockheed and made its first flight in 1948, piloted by Tony LeVier. The T-33 was developed from the Lockheed P-80/F-80 starting as TP-80C/TF-80C in development, then designated T-33A. It was used by the U.S. Navy initially as TO-2 then TV-2, and after 1962, T-33B. Despite its vintage, the venerable T-33 still remains in service worldwide.

slight correction: This is a T-33 trainer, not an F-80 fighter. I dont believe that there are any F-80's flying currently
