Machli in Zone-4 of the Ranthambhore national Park on sunday, 24th May 2009.She had made a Cheetal Kill the previous night. Here she is seen dragging the carcass to a more secluded spot. Notice how in the absence of 3 canines she is unable to grab the carcass from the rump and then using her forepaws she turns the carcass around for a grip on the throat. Machli has recently been conferred a lifetime achievement award and she singlehandedly has turned around the tiger population of the Ranthambhore national park by successfully raising a series of litters to adulthood. Today 8 of the 32 odd tigers in Ranthambhore owe their progeny to her.
