  • The Evening Post & News reported that Victoria station died on 1 July 1967, but the service to Rugby continued until Arkwright St station reopened in September 1967 as the new Northern terminus of the Rugby service that lasted only another 2 years. A sensible plan would have been to maintain a 2-track right of way through the new shopping centre for future use but no.such foresight prevailed.

  • brilliant footage of gcr and victoria station.what a shame its all gone any morefootage of the gcr to sheffield or the great northern to derby would be great

  • The Derby Mafia killed the GC. Now that stinks:-(

  • I Got That Tape Years Ago.. Before Moved To A House.

  • If this was still here today (and other stations that were demolished) I wonder what our railways would be like? This video is the nearest I'll ever get to see of this station which is a huge shame :(.

  • I often travelled between Sheffield and Nottingham.

  • Lovely to have the sounds...

  • I remember going through Nottingham Vic in 1963; we went by train from Oxford to Grantham and on to Cranwell. On the return journey we had a considerable wait at Nottingham Vic, and I was mystified by this huge, empty, station, with a seemingly continuous succession of iron ore trains working through. It was a very impressive station though.

  • Dam sad to see it gone =(

  • 63711 & 63589 are actually 'O1's like 63592

  • this video yes the station is now shopping centre

but there is still an underground tunnel that starts
