If this was still here today (and other stations that were demolished) I wonder what our railways would be like? This video is the nearest I'll ever get to see of this station which is a huge shame :(.

I remember going through Nottingham Vic in 1963; we went by train from Oxford to Grantham and on to Cranwell. On the return journey we had a considerable wait at Nottingham Vic, and I was mystified by this huge, empty, station, with a seemingly continuous succession of iron ore trains working through. It was a very impressive station though.

but there is still an underground tunnel that starts
at mansfield road where the beginning of the tunnel start

they ought to have used nottingham victoria like the metro in newcastle and use the station as a
trram station I rememeber my grandfather taking me to watch steam trains when i was about 6yrs old know we have only one station and they what to extend platform at nottingha midalnd
The Evening Post & News reported that Victoria station died on 1 July 1967, but the service to Rugby continued until Arkwright St station reopened in September 1967 as the new Northern terminus of the Rugby service that lasted only another 2 years. A sensible plan would have been to maintain a 2-track right of way through the new shopping centre for future use but no.such foresight prevailed.
