I agree with madeup - in addition to the screw - there are small "slotting" tabs at the other end for seating the hatch, and on the left and right mid-points there's little tongued tabs.
I expected the cover to pop right off, but I had to get a small knife in and apply some leverage on the left and right - GENTLY - to pop the tongued tabs.
Just to be aware of it if you're doing this. Otherwise, the Crucial 2 GB I got from NewEgg booted right up and is humming along.

Each to their own...

I I just bought the N130. It seems pretty responsive, Windows 7 has not so much as disapointed me quite yet. But in terms of overall responsiveness and speed would an upgrade to 2gb help me out much here?

You do not need to do anything before you do this. However I would suggest you at least start it up first to be sure all is well before you upgrade, just in case. I started mine once, then shut it down and upgraded immediately with no ill effects.

is it possible to overclock a NC-10?
neoranger158 3 years ago
The MSI Wind and Asus models are very safe to overclock with advanced sytem options allowing it, but there is very little info about overclocking the NC10's Atom 1.6GHz up to 2 or 2.2. The main issue that I have read about is that it increases the temperature that the CPU runs at - and netbooks run hot! However I dont know why it is possible with the WIND etc as they use the same processor. I would be interested to learn if anyone has managed it yet! Not willing to risk it on my baby tho :)

The memory used in this video is Kingston KVR667D2S5 2G ValueRAM 2GB 667MHz PC5300 DDR2 200pin SODIMM. This was purchased from Play at £14.99 so your $30 sounds about right!
