Morning Ride To A Comparsa

We drove in from San Antonio de los Baños through the downtown core of Havana to a comparsa performance by a family in their home. This video clip picks up deep in the downtown area where most tourists never get to see and shows what the average housing situation is for most people living in Havana. As you can see at the end, once inside one of these houses it is very clean and well kept, it is only the outsides that look run down due to a lack of money to make proper repairs. The music is by Robert Schumann, "Of Foreign Lands and Peoples", and the video clips were collected by a small Sony W-35 as we rumbled down the narrow streets in our motor coach...
